Become Naturalized U.S. Citizens

On Sunday, October 4, 2015 members of the Elmer Presbyterian Church gathered in the Fellowship Hall to congratulate Pastor Mouris Yousef and his wife, Margaret on becoming naturalized citizens of the United States. There are several steps involved with the process, including being a resident of the USA for at least five years, demonstrate an attachment to the principles and ideals of the U.S. Constitution, be able to read, write, and speak basic English and have an understanding of U.S. history and government. On September 22, 2015 Mouris and “Rita” passed their tests and interviews, and then took the oath of allegiance to the United States of America.

In comments to those gathered, Rev. Yousef said, “We are very grateful to an awesome God who has led this journey and confident that He will continue to guide us. We feel privileged to be citizens of United States, as well as a part of a great church family. Thanks for your prayers and support”. The Yousef family includes son Moshier, who became a citizen by right of his parent’s naturalization, and daughter Miral, who is a US citizen by birth.

The congregations of Elmer Presbyterian Church and Moorestown Presbyterian Church have supported and prayed for the Mouris family as they’ve made this important journey in their lives. To them we say, “Welcome fellow citizens”.
